What an exciting week!

The last 10 days have been very exciting for Cooper! His Nanny and Papa came to visit from Montana. Cooper only gets to see them once or twice a year and he finally "gets" who they are and he had such a blast with them. The weather was awful but we got to go to the aquarium where Cooper loved the big, mean eel and the otters. We also went to House of Bounce, an indoor jumpcastle place. Cooper had so much fun! The picture of him on the race car is from there. We will definately be heading back there soon! He was very sad to see Nanny and Papa leave.
Then we had scans this week. WEdnesday was absolute torture for Cooper. I took him to get his port accessed and his MIBG injection. He screamed so much and threw such a fit. NOw that he is talking in practically sentences, he was screaming for me to get him down and that it hurt so much. Thursday wasn't so bad because we left him accessed. The anesthesiologist gave him some good drugs to calm him down before they tried to hook him up to anything. It did the trick. It was probably the smoothest set of scans we have had yet. He woke up from the anesthesia really groggy, but not grumpy. This was also due to a drug they gave him, but also because he DID NOT HAVE TO HAVE A BONE MARROW BIOPSY!!!!! Yes, that is right- no bone marrow. He is done with it!!!!! That is one bit of good news.
Another bit of good news is that ALL OF HIS SCANS WERE CLEAN! We do have a bone scan Monday, but seeing as the MIBG and CT were clean, we're not expecting anything on the bone scan. We are so relieved again. WE just keep praying that he stays this way forever. NB can sneak up on you when you least expect it....
Another bit of good news is that COOPER CAN GET HIS PORT OUT!!! He will now have scans every 6 months for two years. WE haven't scheduled the surgery yet, but it will be pretty soon. WE're thrilled about that too. He will just have to get an IV when he has his scans from now on.
So that is all of the good news. We are a happy family!
Lily is getting better every day! She is smiling and cooing a lot when she is in a good mood. She did have a period of about 6 days without a bowel movement and she was really irritable, but that all changed last night and she is feeling much better. I quit nursing her last weekend and things have gotten much easier around here. I am getting some sleep since Jason and I are now alternating nights to take care of her. She is also eating like a pig now. At her 2 month check up, she was 9 pounds, 10 ounces. That was last Friday and I am assuming that she is now rapidly putting on weight, eating off a bottle. We are oging to attempt to let her sleep in her room tonight. We'll see how it goes. Right now, she sleeps in her bouncer on top of our bed. It is the only thing that works, aside from bringing her swing into our room.
Well, I think that is all the news from around here. Thanks for checking on Cooper (and Lily!)

This is Cooper sitting on the potty trying to go! The second is with his Make A Wish volunteers. He is showing him his massive Cars collection. Cooper will be going to Disney World this summer for his wish!!!! We were hoping for March, during my Spring break, but that time fills up fast. So June 13 - 19 we will go. I may try to change it so I can spend more time at my cousin's wedding but I dont' know the availability. It sounds like a wonderful trip. Cooper will love it! Especially the Cars they have on display from the movie!!! He is already talking about it.

Things are trying to return to normal around here since the holidays. Lily is better and not fussin gquite as much as she was. At 8:00 every night, however, she screams for a while and can't be put down until about 11:00 when she finally eats and goes to sleep. I am finally getting a little sleep since she now sleeps on my chest. Cooper is just working on potty training and trying to go without his pacifier. Slowly but surely.....

Scans will be coming up the week of the 21st. We always find things to worry about right before his scans and this time is no different. We decided to send some urine in early to have it checked and it came out normal. So hopefully this is an indicator that everything else will be normal too. He visits the endocrinologist today to have his thyroid checked out. I am also having his hearing checked soon because I am slighyly worried that he may not be hearing well. But I am also pretty sure that it is just that he is 2 1/2 years old and ignoring me most of the time. I don't think I would be worried about it if he never had chemo.
